However, DC studies have contributed to analyzing the development of strategies related explicitly to technological innovations and rapidly changing environments, absorptive capacity, knowledge management and information technology ( Cheah, Ho, & Li, 2018 Santoro & Usai, 2018 Schweisfurth & Raasch, 2018). Specific capabilities related to the dynamism and the heterogeneity of the business environment keep pace with changes, adapting and renewing themselves through the development of processes, practices, routines and abilities ( Adner & Helfat, 2003 Teece, 2007, 2019).Īs the research evolved, the different dynamics or market changes started encompassing the different contexts in which organizations operate ( Hermann, Sangalli, & Teece, 2017 Makkonen, Pohjola, Olkkonen, & Koponen, 2014 Teece, 2016). The evolution of the concept of dynamic capabilities (DCs) brings different understandings about the fundaments of strategy related to the development of capabilities ( Teece, 2019).
